“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone the new has come!” 2 Cor 5:17
From the troubles and conflict in Northern Ireland to the classrooms of Belfast Bible College, Billy had led a colourful life. Eventually his violent past caught up with him and at Belfast Crown Court in 1982 he was sentenced to 152 years in prison on 58 charges under the Northern Ireland Prevention Of Terrorism Act.
A true story of God’s Grace at work in an individual’s life…
“This was without doubt the darkest time in my life, suddenly everything that was important to me had gone family, friends, and my freedom”
It was in the darkness of Belfast Prison, I later discovered that “Jesus sets the prisoner free”
Over the years I have shared this messege as I have traveled in U.K, Europe, Africa,USA, Canada, in prisons, churches, youth groups, colleges, universities,on radio and television, when given the opportunity to do so. It has been well received and many thousands have accepted the opportunity to ask Jesus into their lives.
My story was published in 1992 by Kingsway it is called “Full Pardon” at the time it was well received by everyone. It was re-published by New Wine Press under the title “Prisoner Of Hope”
I have been asked many times about republishing my autobiography "Full Pardon". I can tell you that it has been updated and will soon be available in bookshops but is available to download now on kindle.
I have been actively involved in the criminal justice system for many years I have worked on a number of miscarriage of justice cases where people have been wrongly convicted and eventually they got justice and gained their freedom.
I have managed a hostel for ex offenders in London, worked with those who society doesn’t have time for, those imprisoned by lifes’problems such as alcohol, drugs, these broken people need to know that we care about them.
Today I work in my local community amongst societies broken people, it is very challenging, but rewarding because it was in the darkness that I found Hope and most importantly freedom as “Jesus set me free”
